Jason Isbell fans are used to hearing the singer's voice in his songs, but the 37-year-old is lending his vocal talents to the screen for an upcoming episode of Adult Swim's Squidbillies.

In the Season 10 finale of Squidbillies, Isbell will voice the character of Kyle Nubbins, a hip new pastor sent to replace the "big blue teardrop with the face" who filled the role before him. Readers can press play above to check out a clip from the show and hear Isbell in action.

Squidbillies, which has aired on Cartoon Network since 2005, tells the story of the Cuyler family, a group of anthropomorphic Appalachian mud squids -- a federally protected endangered species in the show -- who live in the Blueridge Mountains of Georgia. Isbell's former band, the Drive-By Truckers, appeared on a previous episode of the show, during the fifth season, alongside Gillian Welch, Dave Rawlings, Lucinda Williams and Hayes Carll, who all played singing forest animals in the same episode. David Allan Coe has also appeared on Squidbillies, as himself, during a Season 3 episode.

Squidbillies' 10th season finale will air on Sunday (Aug. 21) at 11:30PM ET.
