Well it's official. Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten has retired. The announcement of his possible retirement came as a surprise last week, and most fans hoped it'd actually not happen -- just yet.

The future Hall-of-Famer retires as the Cowboys all-time leader in receptions (1,152) and receiving yards (12,448). He finishes third all-time in touchdown receptions (68) behind Bob Hayes and Dez Bryant.

Witten will join the Monday Night Football team as an analyst, his first trip back to AT&T Stadium will be on November 5th to call the Cowboys game against the Tennessee Titans.
