East Texas has a lot to celebrate when it comes to fun on a bun this week.

Since Monday (September 18) is National Cheeseburger Day, dozens of publications produced lists of the best burger around. Texas Highways Magazine also partook and we think they're spot on. In their article, Comfort Food: Burgers, they list the top 40 burgers spots in the lone star state.

At the top of the list: East Texas gem, Jucy's Hamburgers is named No. 1. But it doesn't stop there, No. 4 on the list is Burger Grind, which you can find in Tyler. How do you celebrate such an accomplishment? There's a Hamburger Festival happening this Saturday in Athens, TX - where many say is the home of the first burger ever.

Let's talk Jucy's for a sec. This is my current infatuation right now. Whenever I'm starving, my mind goes directly to Jucy's. My go-to is the Black and Bleau with some fries, fried-green tomatoes, and unsweet tea. Gotta watch those calories, am I right? According to Texas Highways, Jucy's originated in Longview in 1980. And now there are 5 locations throughout East Texas. That's certainly something to be proud of.

Now, I haven't tried the Burger Grind off Old Jacksonville Rd. yet, but I pass by it a lot. I may have to take a detour next time I take my dog to Sunrise Paw Park.

And the last thing I'll show you from my burger investigations today, is that Texas Monthly listed another top burger in Tyler, and it's probably not something you expected. In their article, The 50 Greatest Burgers in Texas, Coyote Sam's Bar and Grille has a burger on the menu that cracks the top 50: the Kobe Beef Burger.

So get your burger on this week. We have plenty to choose from!
