Grammy-winner Kacey Musgraves returned to East Texas for her first-ever Hometown Hang on Sept. 26, and turned her hometown(s) of Mineola (and Golden, too!) on its head.

Not only did Musgraves wow her first and most avid supporters with songs off her new album "Pageant Material," and her Grammy-winning "Same Trailer Different Park," she also surprised with a few covers including George Strait (who she'll be playing with in Las Vegas next year), and TLC's "No Scrubs."

In the middle of it all, a touching moment when Musgraves was presented with a key to the city of Mineola. Funds raised by the festival went directly to kids, supporting music and arts in Wood County schools.

Earlier in the week, city officials declared Sept. 26 as "Kacey Musgraves Day" in Mineola.

No official attendance numbers have been released yet, but it is being estimated that anywhere between 5,000-8,000 people attended, coming from as far away as Louisiana, Oklahoma and Mississippi.

Her current single "Dime Store Cowgirl" is out to radio now.

Musgraves wasn't the only act, as the day-long festival included performances from Wade Bowen, and John & Jacob. And what would a concert benefiting music and arts for kids in Golden and Mineola be without a bunch of 'em sharing their talents? Which is why that afternoon many were invited, by Musgraves, to perform on her stage.
