Kellie Pickler helped spread the message of early detection with an emotional performance of 'Someone Somewhere Tonight' on 'Good Morning America' Tuesday morning (Oct. 1). Husband Kyle Jacobs joined her on stage, while best friend and breast cancer survivor Summer Holt Miller watched from the audience.

It was just over a year ago that Pickler shaved her head in support of Miller. While viewers weren't provided an update on her treatment, the 37-year-old was radiant, smiling and wearing a pink scarf around her neck. Pink was the color of the day -- and will be the color of the rest of the month. October is national breast cancer awareness month, and the 'GMA' stage, the band and the audience were all bathed in it.

While 'Someone Somewhere Tonight' can be interpreted in so many ways, there was little doubt that this version was meant for Miller. As she finished, Pickler's voice cracked and then she broke down, running to embrace her longtime friend. The two shared "I love yous" before the segment ended.
