Kevin McGuire Reacts to Taylor Swift’s ACM Awards Date Invite [VIDEO]

Kevin McGuire made headlines when the New Jersey high school senior who, while battling cancer for the second time, asked superstar Taylor Swift to prom. While she declined that invitation, she surprised him by asking him to be her date to the Academy of Country Music Awards in April. Now, you can watch his reaction.

CBS Philly got it all on video when Kevin found out about Taylor's invite to one of the year's premier awards' shows. This came after Kevin's sister, Victoria, created a Facebook page asking Taylor Swift to go to prom with her brother, who feared his cancer treatment and loss of hair would not land him a prom date.

Taylor responded, saying, "Kevin, I’m so sorry but I won’t be able to make it to your prom. But I was wondering, the ACM Awards are coming up. Would you be my date? Love, Taylor."

"I don't know what else to say," Kevin, who is battling leukemia, said. "I was just trying not to throw up." He followed with a post on Twitter to Taylor: “I have cancer. Cancer doesn’t have me. Taylor, I would love to go with you."
