For those that use fields associated with the Kilgore Youth Softball Association, having use of only three fields presents a big problem.

Recent rain caused a nearby creek to flood and wash away the infield dirt, resulting in a large hole by the dugout.

Cody Wilson, president of the Kilgore Youth Softball Association, told KLTV, "We host tournaments for girl’s fast-pitch softball. That’s more than just Kilgore. I mean, that’s girls from all over the state."

Volunteers help keep the fields ready for each tournament but some extra help will be needed to get the field safe a playable again. New dirt for the infield is needed and fences are also in need of repair.
