KNUE ‘Artist Spotlight’ of The Week

Kenny Chesney was the guest on the Big D and Bubba show this morning. Those guys get all the fun. But it got me excited about seeing Kenny at Cowboys Stadium in a couple of weeks. Kenny's "No Shoes Nation" tour comes through Texas on May 11. We even have your chance to win tickets to the show. Of course, as soon as I heard Kenny's show will be coming swinging through Arlington, I ordered my tickets and gave them to myself for Christmas. I knew that I didn't want to miss this show. The show has some of my favorites. Besides Kenny, I'm eager to see Eric Church, Eli Young Band and of course, Kacey Musgraves. I'm so proud of Kacey, who I've watched grow as an artist for a while.

The first time I met Kenny was back in 1995 at KNUE. Kenny was a baby in the business then and had just released his LP, "Tin Man." He came to the station to promote his LP, and sang a few songs for the staff. I was pregnant with my daughter, Chloe, and I remember taking a picture with him. Wow -- that was awhile ago.

My favorite thing about Kenny Chesney is his love of the beach. I love the beach as well, and I really relate to the way the beach makes you feel -- free, relaxed, a world away from stress, hypnotizing and beautiful.

Kenny's latest LP, "Life On A Rock" is mostly acoustic, laid back, music. Just the way I like it!
