All of us at 101.5 KNUE are proud to be part of East Texas, and we are especially proud to live in a place where we hold our military and first responders in such high regard.

KNUE + Patterson UTI are proud to announce this week’s “Hometown Hero," Michael Cucinotta, a firefighter and paramedic with the Marshall Fire Department.

Mr. Cucinotta, a Marshall native who lives in Longview, was nominated by his wife, Amanda. Here's what she had to say about her husband:

Michael graduated from Marshall High School, and then went on to graduate with a Bachelor's Degree from ETBU and now serves his community as a selfless firefighter/ paramedic for the Marshall Fire Department. He works overtime whenever it is needed, no questions asked, and is the last one to leave, ensuring that everything is taken care of and ready to go for the next engine run. He has a servant's heart and will help anyone in need, whether it is a co-worker, member of the community, family member or friend. People who know him will attest that "Cuch is the guy that has your back in any situation." He is the best man I know and I am proud to be his wife.

To show our appreciation for Michael's dedication and service to his country and community, he will receive a plaque courtesy of Tyler Trophy. They specialize in awards, engraving, trophies, plaques, gifts and more.

Thank you for your service, Michael, and we are proud to call you a fellow East Texan.
