After lots of rumors and speculation, Lamar Odom has confirmed that he and the Mavericks organization have agreed that it is in both parties best interest that Lamar Odom separate from the Dallas Mavericks and remove himself from the team. While a few people may find this shocking, people closest to these parties and die-hard Maverick fans have seen this coming for a while.

Lamar Odom was traded to the Dallas Mavericks from the Los Angeles Lakers after the NBA Lockout. The trade came as a huge shock to everyone, including Odom himself. Odom and his wife, Khloe Kardashian-Odom, packed up their bags and moved to Texas. The transition has not been easy and has also been documented on the couples E! reality show “Khloe And Lamar”. Lamar released a statement this morning to ESPN.com.

“The Mavericks and I have mutually agreed that it’s in the best interest of both parties for me to step away from the team,” Odom told ESPN.com. “I’m sorry that things didn’t work out better for both of us, but I wish the Mavs’ organization, my teammates and Dallas fans nothing but continued success in the defense of their championship.”

We here in Texas wish nothing but the best for Lamar Odom and his family, and look forward to seeing what his future in basketball holds. Check back for more on this story to see what the Mavericks organization has to say, and whats next for Lamar.
