Last week, Lauren Alaina made headlines with her amazing physical transformation since dropping 25 pounds in only five months. Taste of Country caught up with the southern belle in Nashville over the weekend during the annual Family Day benefit, where we asked Alaina if she truly planned on losing another 10 pounds to reach her goal, as reported.

“I don’t want to lose any more weight,” Alaina said, referencing the Us Weekly story that ran on the internet last week. The interview with the publication actually happened a couple weeks back. “I’ve lost a little bit more [since then], but I don’t want to be skinny. I like having curves. Curves are in!”

Alaina credits healthier food choices for the change to her petite figure — which means no more fast food stops for meals, as well as daily workouts of crunches, push-ups and squats.

“I’m just really healthy now because I have to work all the time,” said the 16-year-old singer. “I grew up eating fried food. I thought that macaroni and cheese was a vegetable. When I started working all the time, I started eating the right food that will help me have my energy up and stay healthy. I won’t be sweating as bad onstage now [laughs]!”

Alaina’s life since ‘American Idol’ has kept her on a fast-paced track to stardom. Just a couple weeks ago, her debut album, ‘Wildflower,’ hit the stores and debuted at No. 1 on iTunes and No. 5 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart. The latest single from ‘Wildflower’ is ‘Georgia Peaches.’
