Don't miss "Bernie" this Thursday, May 23, starring Jack Black, Shirley MacLaine and East Texas Native, Matthew McConaughey. The movie is based on the true story of Bernie Tiede from Carthage, Texas.  Bernie Tiede, played by funny guy Jack Black, was a mortician in Carthage who struck up a friendship with a wealthy widow played by Shriley MacLaine. The plot thickens when Bernie kills her and goes to great lengths to create the illusion that she is still alive.

The film has cameos by many people who experienced the events first hand. We will have special guests speak before the show, Danny Buck Davidson the Panola County District Attorney, played in the film by McConaughey and Ms. Kay Baby Epperson who had several cameos in the film.

The Liberty Hall in downtown Tyler, has been beautifully renovated, and it's a great place to enjoy a good movie.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and the movies start at 7 p.m. Tickets are available online or at the door for $5. Tickets can be purchased in advance at libertytyler.com .
