Little Free Library Debuted in Tyler
The “Little Free Library” is a new idea that offers Tyler citizens a wide variety of free books in a free standing display that are free to take and read and return or shared amongst friends. There is no due date, just honesty. The book you take to read will be returned to the “Little Free Library” in addition to bringing your old favorites to be donated to the library and shared among other city citizens.
Books with in stand are for children, young adults and adults. The Tyler Public Library has donated the initial stock of books but hopes that will grow with interaction among patrons and grow in variety due to favorites being donated by citizens.
There is a mission to the program, to promote literacy and the love of reading with the free book exchange. As the pilot program continues to grow and is hopefully successful, the “Little Free Library” will be expanded to other facilities throughout Tyler.
You can see the first ever “Little Free Library” at Southside Park at the intersection of Shiloh Road and Donnybrook Avenue.
