TYLER -- Tyler Police have released a surveillance photo of the man suspected of robbing a woman of her purse and then knocking her to the ground. Officers responded to the East Texas Medical Center parking garage Sunday night where 63-year-old Shirley Steelman of Kilgore was walking to the entrance of the garage and was approached by the suspect. Police say the suspect who had a weapon stole the purse and knocked Steelman down and fled on foot. The victim suffered a broken arm during the aggravated robbery. The vicitm's purse was recovered by police a few blocks from the garage. The suspect was last seen running east bound from ETMC. The investigation continues at this time.

Man hit by Train Survives

LONGVIEW - A Longview man who was hit by a train is recovering with non-life threating injuries. Police say 52 year old Donald Ray Brown was attempting to cross a rail bridge with his bicycle when he was struck by the train. Brown fell into a ditch about 20 feet below the bridge. Police say Brown was intoxicated at the time. The incident happened at Sabine and Ray Streets Saturday night.

Teen Murder Trial Re-Set

TYLER - The murder trial for an East Texas teen has been re-set for Monday February 6th in Smith County. 16 year old Nate Anderson is accused of shooting his sister to death in their New Chapel Hill home in 2010.. Smith County investigators determined Amanda Anderson was shot several times.

School Bus Wreck in Longview

LONGVIEW – No injuries were reported this morning when a Longview School Bus and a car were involved in what school officials are calling a fender-bender. About 50 Ware Elementary School students were on the bus when the accident occurred at Libby Lane and East Glenn Street in Longview. Damage to the bus was minor, and the car had front end damage . The children were transported to another bus and were in class before 9 a.m.

Air Bag Investigation

DETROIT - The Chrysler Jeep Liberty is at the center of an investigation after 50 people reported they were injured when the air bag deployed without a crash happening. The National Highway traffic Safety Administration started investigating Liberty SUVs from 2002 and 2003 model years in September. It was upgraded to a full engineering analysis last week. Safety regulators say the air bag computer may fail due to an electrical voltage spike.

Couple Flees to Texas with Monkeys in Tow

TEXAS-LOUISIANA LINE — A Louisiana couple has fled to Texas with their four Capuchin monkeys amid a crackdown on wild animals in private homes. Jim and Donita Clark says they won't go back home to Louisiana until they're assured the monkeys won't be taken. The Clarks are afraid new home inspections by state officials are a pretext for confiscating animals.

Americans' Incomes Rise in December

Megaupload Data to be Deleted

WASHINGTON — Some 50 million users of Megaupload could see their data deleted as soon as Thursday. Federal prosecutors have blocked access to the service, saying it facilitated millions of illegal downloads of movies, music and other content. Seven people are facing charges. Megaupload's attorney says the data is important to the company's defense and it's working with prosecutors to keep it from being erased.

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — The attacks continue ahead of tomorrow's Florida Republican presidential primary. Mitt Romney, who has surged back to front-runner status, is keeping the pressure on Newt Gingrich. Gingrich accuses Romney of "carpet bombing" tactics and telling outright lies.

"The Help" Wins Big at SAG Awards

LOS ANGELES — "The Help" is the big winner at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The Deep South drama claimed the guild's ensemble award, the show's equivalent of a best-picture prize. Also on Sunday night, Viola Davis of "The Help" took home the award for best actress and Octavia Spencer was voted best supporting actress. Both played black maids going public with uneasy truths about their white employers in Mississippi during the 1960s .

Super Bowl Week in Indianapolis Begins

INDIANAPOLIS — Super Bowl fans are descending on Indianapolis for the Feb. 5 game and the city is trying to prepare for whatever may come its way. Indianapolis Power & Light has replaced 150 manhole covers in high-traffic areas after a series of underground explosions last year turned the covers into dangerous projectiles. The city also plans to sweep Lucas Oil Stadium and have 1,000 police on hand.

Subcommittee to Hear Drilling Testimony

MIAMI — A congressional subcommittee will hear testimony today in Florida about the implications of Cuba's plan to drill for oil off its coast. Members of the U.S. Coast Guard, experts and U.S. officials will testify on the risks and whether the U.S. is prepared for possible spills. One expert says a Cuban spill could damage the nation's ecology and economy.

Beef Recall in Minnesota

ST. MICHAEL, Minn. — A Minnesota wholesaler is recalling more than a ton of beef sirloin products because the labels fail to indicate that one ingredient is milk, a possible allergen. The U.S. Department of Agriculture says J&B Group Incorporated is recalling over 2,600 pounds of products. The products were made between January and September of last year, and were distributed for institutional use in Texas and two other states.
