Tyler Sandwich Shop Has an Item That Takes Me Home to Chicago

I have tried many sandwich shops in East Texas and I have a few favorite places.  However, I was blown away by a local shop that not only had a sandwich that reminded me of ‘home’ (Chicago), but damn near made it to perfection.

Lola’s Hand Crafted Sandwiches just became one of my favorite places to enjoy a good sandwich in East Texas. The restaurant prides itself on using fresh local ingredients in all their sandwiches.  According to their page, their mission is simple:  Serve delicious local food that guests will want to return week after week therefore enriching our own community in the process.

The anticipation was building so I looked at their menu and - low and behold - I see a sandwich that reminded me of Chicago’s “Italian Beef” which is their “Chicago Beef”.  The sandwich has thinly sliced roast beef, provolone, giardiniera peppers, and spicy au jus.  I took one bite and it was everything I had imagined.  The Chicago Beef was well put together and it was well beyond my expectations.  I even had to go on their FB page and give them some love.

Lola’s Handcrafted Sandwiches has recently expanded their menu with more delicious sandwiches and they also have live music sometimes if you decide to dine in.  Nevertheless, if you would like to enjoy one of East Texas' sandwich shop gems, I nominate Lola’s and make sure to try the “Chicago Beef” sandwich!
