At a town hall meeting last night, Longview city leaders encourged citizens to put together Neighborhood Watch groups.

With the recent string of unsolved crimes, including the string of arsons lately, police believe having citizens band together can help solve these cases.

Longview Police Chief Mike Bishop said, “When you have your crime watch meetings, the officers that work your area will come out to those meetings and build that partnership and that rapport so that when we have crime issues in the city that the citizens feel comfortable in working with the police department to work together to solve the crime problems.”

If you are interested in setting up a Neighborhood Watch group, contact the Longview Police Department or find the forms at their website.
