Luke Bryan is busier than ever right now, but he still finds time for the most important thing in his life: his family.

The country superstar has just released a new album, Kill the Lights, which opened at No. 1 across all genres. He's been making the rounds to promote the project, and he's also embarked on his massive Kick the Dust Up tour, which is playing the biggest venues in the country. But much of his focus is on not only his two sons, Bo and Tate, but also his nephew Tilden and nieces Kris and Jordan, whom he and his wife stepped in to help raise after they were orphaned.

"Bo went from being kind of the alpha male to being the middle child, but he takes it in stride," Bryan tells People magazine. "It's been amazing watching them do so well with it. They treat Til like their brother, and Til does the same. And that's what's funny, is Til went from being the baby of his family to being the oldest. It's definitely been a social experiment."

Bryan says he's seeing one unexpected benefit from having Til around his two boys.

"They're becoming better athletes 'cause Til gets to play with them. When I come home, they're throwing the baseball a little farther and hitting the ball a little harder. I know that's 'cause Til's been out in the yard with them."

The country superstar has seen an unusual amount of tragedy alongside his career triumphs. He lost his brother, Chris, in a car accident in 1996, and his sister, Kelly, passed away suddenly in 2007. Her husband died just last year, and that's when Bryan and his wife made the decision to adopt Til, whose sisters are legal adults. Bryan relies on his Christian convictions to keep the family strong.

"I think with everything that's happened in my family, I just have to lean on my faith and the understanding that God has a plan for all of us," he reflects. "We just wake up every day and do our best. I'll get down in the dumps, and then I'll meet a Make-A-Wish kid, and I'll ask myself, 'What are you complaining about? You just have to keep your faith strong and rock on.'"
