***UPDATED FEB. 2***

Friends and family of Mark Adams, the Lindale High School graduate who was killed last week in a car accident while helping a stranded motorist, will celebrate his life Friday at multiple memorial services.

Adams, who was 28, died last week in Orlando, Fla., while helping friend Tiffany Walters on the side of Interstate 4 who had run out of gas. An SUV driven by Glen Ross II drifted onto the shoulder and struck two cars and Adams, killing him instantly.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Friday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Carrollton. A memorial service in Lindale is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, and burial will follow at Lindale City Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Carrollton church from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight.

Adams, affectionately known as "Tex" in motocross circles, was a professional motorcycle builder and mechanic. He was a competition mechanic for Motocross star James Stewart. You can see his work on his website. He also did work with MTV's Nitro Circus team, among other projects.

"Mark had a pure heart," his mother, Carolyn Adams, told The Orlando Sentinel. "He always did more than most. And he was fearless, much to his mother's chagrin. He has lived his dream and accomplished every goal he set out to accomplish. "I'm so proud of who he is."

Country music star Miranda Lambert graduated with Adams at Lindale in 2002. She postponed her Friday concert in Tallahassee, Fla., to attend Adams' funeral. Lambert tweeted several times last week about losing her friend, with whom she said she was close since the third grade. She also tweeted some advice to her fans about friends.

The incident happened just two weeks after Lambert and husband Blake Shelton experienced the loss of his father, Dick Shelton, on Jan. 17. Lambert had just announced her return to the road before Adams' death.

Motocross racer James Stewart also talked about Adams on Twitter, with this message: “I got some horrible news that my practice mechanic Mark “Tex” Adams was hit by a car & killed this morning while on the side of the road…. while helping someone who car was broke down. I’m in disbelief as something so tragic could have to u while helping someone else in need… I’m stunned bc Tex was such a caring & doing for others person. My heart goes out to his family. Damn this is a sad day. We love u tex R.I.P”
