Country artist Matt Stillwell experienced a taste of last week’s devastating tornadoes, though thankfully, he was nowhere in the area. Stillwell, a Nashville-based artist who is signed to Average Joe’s Entertainment, lost his tour bus in the devastating March 2 storms, which ripped through much of east Kentucky on Friday.

The country act was having his bus serviced at Visone Automart in east Bernstadt, Ky. when the bus was ripped apart by a tornado that cut through the area. “I’ve never seen or been a part of anything like this,” Stillwell said in a press release following the unfortunate event. “I feel so bad for the people of East Kentucky and all the other areas that were hit with the storms last week. Thankfully my friends and band are all OK and our bus is completely replaceable, but lives, homes, and businesses are gone and that’s a shame. I’m praying for everyone involved.”

Though the total damage to the vehicle (see photos for the wreckage) has not yet been assessed, Stillwell today began the third week of his radio tour in support of his most recent single, ‘Ignition.’ The song is the lead single from his upcoming sophomore album release.

This week, Stillwell’s radio tour will hit the Midwest, where he’ll be playing three acoustic shows with Colt Ford and Ty Stone and will make stops in Pontiac, Chicago and Macomb, Ill. Then, the emerging country act will head to Charlotte, N.C. with Ford to play a show March 17 at Charlotte’s Coyote Joe’s.
