Miranda Lambert Planning for New Pistol Annies Album and Summer Tour
It was one year ago tomorrow (April 4) that Lindale native Miranda Lambert and the Pistol Annies debuted their act at the ACM ‘Girls Night Out’ performance in Las Vegas, before spending the summer together as part of Lambert’s cross-country tour. The plan for this year? Do it all over again.
Lambert tells the Boot that Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley will join her on the road this summer, and then this fall they’ll work to record a new album, the follow-up to ‘Hell on Heels.’
“Our goal on this next record is to write everything in our family, just the three of us girls again,” Lambert says. “The new album will be what you expect, three country girls singing about three country girls’ lives.”
The trio has been active since releasing their debut album last August. In addition to recording the song ‘Run Daddy Run‘ on ‘The Hunger Games’ soundtrack, they also went in studio to cut the song ‘Come All Ye Fair and Tender Ladies‘ for the Chieftains 50th anniversary album.
