According to reports, an Oklahoma off duty federal officer from the Department of Veterans Affairs was taking his family to a Garth Brooks concert in Tulsa Friday night.  However, on the way, the officer observed a man allegedly beating up a woman while he pinned her to the ground.

The officer, 33-year-old Andrew Bryiant, reportedly got out of his vehicle and identified himself as a law officer.  At that time, according to Bryiant, the man got off the woman and then pulled a gun forcing the officer to draw his own gun and fire.  23-year-old Rodney Walker was critically injured and later died from his wounds.  Officer Bryiant was not hurt.

The case remains under investigation, but after questioning Bryiant has been released. There's no word on whether Garth Brooks knows about the incident.
