People Attempting to Help (aka PATH) is looking for your donations of box fans to help those in need find relief from the heat.

Last year, more than 1,100 fans were passed out.

You can donate individually or put a group together at your office or church to help.

PATH also helps those who may need assistance to pay their utility bill. Any donations to assist that portion of PATH's program is greatly appreciated.

Gregg Grubb, executive director of PATH, told the Tyler Morning Telegraph, “Our families are so financially stressed during the summer due to the heat. It’s one of the big issues, as well as the kids being out of school.”

Grubb also said that PATH typically helps about 140 families a day but rises to around 200 during the summer months.

To help, you can purchase a box fan and drop it off at the PATH office on Front Street in Tyler, you can make a cash donation. Also, if you purchase a fan at Home Depot for PATH, you will receive a $10 discount.
