Longview Police say they have a person of interest in connection with a double homicide, but are not identifying the subject.

The bodies of 28-year-old Latoya Nicole Reese, and her daughter 11-year-old Mya Rosetta Nichol Sebron, both of Longview were  found Wednesday evening in their Longview duplex.

Preliminary autopsy results indicate both victims suffered gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead by Gregg County Justice of the Peace Arthur Fort.

Police responded to the 100 block of Jester Circle after they received a welfare check call.

Longview Bicyclist Dies after Being Struck by Car

On October 11, 2012 at 10:05 p.m., officers were dispatched to an accident with injuries in the 2900 Block of Estes Parkway.

When Officers arrived they were told a 2003 red Honda accord, identified as Hameed Ali Shahzad 25, of Longview, was traveling in the northbound outside lane of traffic. Shahzad’s vehicle struck a bicycle ridden by 51 year-old Gary Spruille of Longview.

Spruille was riding down the middle of the outside lane on his bicycle. Spruille’s bicycle was not equipped with any safety equipment as required by law and Shahzad did not see Spruille in his lane of travel.

Spruille was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Sam Lawson. The case remains under investigation.
