A small plane collided with an SUV Saturday as the plane was landing at the Northwest Regional Airport in Roanoke just north of Fort Worth off I-35.

WFAA TV received some dramatic footage taken on the ground by the wife’s pilot as her husband was attempting a landing during his first solo round trip.

The Pilot, William Davis told WFAA he was shocked the driver of the SUV didn’t see his plane and didn’t stop at the stop sign.

Airport management said drivers are supposed to stop when the runway is active. But moments before Frank and Heather Laudo’s vehicle crossed the path of Davis' plane; his wife's recording shows a white vehicle taking the same path.

The Laudos said they never saw the plane, even though it was feet away, preparing to land at 65 mph.

The FAA is investigating the incident.
