Update 5:00 p.m. EST: Eyewitnesses, some of whom are students, identified the shooter as Jaylen Fryberg, a freshman.

Update 4:00 p.m. EST: KVAL now reports that the shooter fatally shot one student and critically injured four more before killing himself in the cafeteria. Authorities do not know the shooter's motives. No names have been released yet.

Update 3:30 p.m. EST: The shooter was a student at the school. As many as five students may have been injured.

Update 3:15 p.m. EST: Marysville Police Commander Robb Lamoureux announced to reporters, "We are confident there is only one shooter and the shooter is deceased."

Update 3:00 p.m.: KVAL reports that the gunman shot and injured two students before turning the gun on himself, fatally. The injured students have been airlifted to a local hospital.

KIRO-TV in Seattle is reporting a possible shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck High School in Marysville, Washington. Students and at least one teacher have said they heard gunshots, and the school is now on lockdown.

KOMO is reporting that at least two students have been injured.

The Marysville School District released the following statement:

The Marysville Pilchuck High School is currently in lock down due to an emergency situation. Police and emergency services have responded. The Marysville School District lock down procedures will remain in effect at Marysville Pilchuck until further notice from law enforcement. We will continue to forward communication in cooperation with law enforcement.
