When Chrissy Amphlett, lead singer of the from the pop group Divinyls realized that her breast cancer was terminal, she decided to change the vision of her 1990 anthem "I Touch Myself", to encourage women to check for breast cancer.  Amphlett discovered her own breast cancer through self-examination, after mammograms and ultrasounds initially failed to identify it. She passed away in April 2013, but not before changing her hit song, to a song of breast cancer awareness.

Cancer Council New South Wales, the Australian advocacy group, joined a group of Australian singers, including breast cancer survivor Olivia Newton-John, and produced a powerful version powerful PSA for self-examination.
