The Christmas season is upon us and among other things, that means "CHRISTMAS MUSIC, hooray!" Or, for all you Grinches, that means, "Christmas Music? Boo!" Regardless which reaction you experience, one thing is certain -- your ears are fixin' to be inundated with sounds of the season.

Of course each year we get our Christmas mainstays, Bing Crosby's "White Christmas," Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas," the upbeat "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" from Brenda Lee, and those damn Barking Dogs doing "Jingle Bells."

But we're not about the "mainstays" here at Radio Texas, LIVE! This year we're gonna shake things up a bit with our very first RTX Massive Christmas Music Melee. Over the course of the next three weeks we will pit eight of your favorite Texas and Red Dirt artists' Christmas songs against each other. And come Christmas Eve there will be just one song left standing: The RTX Massive Christmas Music Melee Champion 2012.

We begin with eight songs that I chose myself. We then drew the pairings at random. Now, we need you to cast your vote in each match up to decide who moves on each week in the Melee.

This week, decide the winners between Ali Dee's "Santa Baby" and Kevin Fowler's "Santa Go Busted by the Border Patrol." As well as Johnny Cooper's "Please Come Home for Christmas" and Cody Canada's "Mele Kalikimaka."

Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. CST Saturday, Dec. 8.

The second half of the first round will begin Monday, Dec. 10. As Kyle Park's "Winter Wonderland" goes up against Eli Young Band's "Wonderful Christmas Time" and Pat Green's "Let it Snow" challenges Casey Donahew and Cody Johnson's "When Santa Comes to Texas."

The four first-round winners will move on to the semifinals beginning Dec. 17, culminating on Christmas Eve when we will crown our first-ever RTX Massive Christmas Music Melee Champion. Happy voting and Merry Christmas!

Ali Dee "Santa Baby"

Kevin Fowler "Santa Got Busted by the Border Patrol"

Johnny Cooper "Please Come Home for Christmas"
