Bluegrass legend Dr. Ralph Stanley has canceled two scheduled concert dates after being hospitalized following a fall.

Bluegrass Today reports that Stanley was admitted to the hospital on Saturday (Sept. 26), and required minor surgery after suffering a cracked pelvis. The 88-year-old music icon is reportedly doing well, and is expected to be able to return home soon.

“He is doing well; doctors expect a full recovery. He will be released from [the] hospital [on] Thursday or Friday of this week,” Stanley’s grandson, Nathan Stanley, tells Bluegrass Today. “We appreciate all the prayers. The Good Lord has his hands upon my papaw."

A post to Stanley's Facebook page cautions fans not to buy into the rumors they've read online.

"Please disregard any rumors going around that Dr. Ralph Stanley fell and broke his hip," the note reads. "That is false information. Dr. Stanley is recovering from a small pelvic fracture. He is doing great and expected to have full recovery."

Stanley released a duets album, Ralph Stanley & Friends: Man of Constant Sorrow, in January. He still tours regularly, but he's been forced to cancel his upcoming appearance at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco, Calif., along with an upcoming show in Manassas, Va. at the Hylton Performing Arts Center.

The Grammy-winning musician — who is the oldest living member of the Grand Ole Opry—-  will return to the stage on Oct. 18 in Austin, Texas at the Paramount Theatre, and is expected to resume his regular touring schedule.
