After a year of waiting Niagara Speedway go-kart track in the Clifton Hill district of Niagara Falls is set to open. Looks like we're going to Canada! It is being referred to as “real-life Mario Kart” because its tracks resemble tracks in the classic Nintendo video games. Beginning June 1st you can live out your dream of real-life Mario Kart... sort of.

There won't be any banana skins, thunderbolts, or bob-ombs -- but it still should be fun. According to their YouTube channel, "It's like go-karts on steroids! Test your driving skills along the straight-away, negotiate the hair-pin turns and climb the elevated ramp as you head for the checkered flag!"

The Huffingon Post points out that the track is similar to the one in Branson, Missouri which has three different go-kart courses modeled around the famous video game. The project, built by HOCO Entertainment and Resorts, aims to revitalize Niagara tourism.
