Pop and hip-hop superstar Nicki Minaj will be joining Mariah Carey on the ‘American Idol’ judges’ table for Season 12, according to a report from Us Weekly.

Us Weekly is reporting from two sources close to the situation.

“I’m not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it,” one source is quoted as saying to Us. “A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening.”

The “Superbass” singer joins R&B star Mariah Carey on the table, both filling empty spaces left by Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, who were judges the last two seasons.

Us reports third judge Randy Jackson will be moving to a “mentoring role,” still leaving an open space on the judges’ table.

Rumors are still swirling about another judge, with names from Nick Jonas, to Keith Urban, to Brad Paisley and Adam Lambert among the rumored judges.
