The mud will be flying and the crawfish will be boiling Saturday on the banks of the Neches River in Chandler for the first ever Riverfest Mudrun! The fun family themed event will feature a 5k and 1k kids run, live music all day and a kids entertainment area oh, yeah, and some boiled mud bugs too!

This 5k and 1k kids run aren't like any regular run you hear about around East Texas, this one will leave runners (and walkers alike) covered in mud! Yep, participants will be covered in mud once they are through with the courses' 15 fun challenging mud and foam obstacles. If the runners are feeling up to it, there will be an optional river cross too! The kids will have a condensed version of this course to navigate through, which will be challenging for all!

While the runs are happening, vendors will be set up boiling crawfish and the bands will be playing on the stage. Gates on this event will open at 8:30 am with the first of many scheduled runs to begin around 9am. There will also be bounce houses for the kids to have some fun in too.

Head to Chandler Saturday morning to be a spectator or a last minute participant.  The event is being held right off of Hwy. 31 at the Neches River bridge on the southwest side of the road.
