Ronnie Dunn recently partnered with Folds of Honor and Country Outfitter to give back to one special military family, the Bauguess', who lost their beloved father and husband during the war in Afghanistan in 2007.

Dunn joined Country Outfitter as part of their Win Your Wishlist giveaway to give family a $500 gift card to Country Outfitter and a trip to see Brooks and Dunn's vegas show with Reba McEntire, Reba, Brooks and Dunn: Together in Vegas. Folds of Honor — which provides educational support to children and spouses of fallen and wounded soldiers — also will provide college scholarships for the Bauguess’ daughters, Ryann and Ellie.

“This life that I live is almost too good to be true in so many ways. When Country Outfitter presented me the opportunity to make someone’s Christmas a little brighter, I knew I wanted to use it to shine a light on the incredible work of Folds of Honor," Dunn says. "The service and sacrifices that these heroic people have and continue to make can never be forgotten."

Major Larry Bauguess, an Airborne Ranger serving with the 82nd Airborne Division in Afghanistan, died serving his country as part of a peace discussion in Pakistan. After the deal went successfully, wife Wesley says, a Pakistani soldier opened fire, and Bauguess stepped in front of his men to save them.

“The greatest gift we can be given is to have our soldier remembered. We’re so thankful to Major Dan and all Folds of Honor is doing,” says Wesley.

Though the girls are still young, they know a few of McEntire and Brooks and Dunn’s tunes, Wesley says, so they’ll be singing along with the best of ‘em.

“They grew up listening to country with their dad. They know all the words to ‘Boot Scootin’ Boogie’ and ‘Fancy’!”

“Larry was an amazing man, he was a warrior and a true gentleman. I can’t believe Ronnie Dunn dreamed this up for us,” she continues. "I’m so thankful. I’m going to cry the whole time we’re there."

Brooks and Dunn’s Vegas show with McEntire recently added more dates due to its success, extending its December run and adding six dates in May 2016.
