Sam Hunt is ready for new music, too! Fans are itching for the follow-up to Montevallo, and the singer says he's finally able to lock in on writing and recording the new project.

The "Make You Miss Me" singer says album No. 2 is his No. 1 priority right now. He's off the road and back at home, writing and looking for new songs and styles. Don't assume this next album will be more of the same.

“I love so many styles of music," Hunt told Taste of Country during the pre-ACM Awards Westwood One remotes at the MGM. "I wish I could make multiple records, stylistically. The way that I’m gonna remedy that is to make a diverse record with a lot of different styles on one record.”

Look for a diverse record when it comes. So ... when is that again? Hunt doesn't have that figured out quite yet. He admits he feels the pressure after having years to write his groundbreaking debut album. Now it's just a few short months before he begins playing festivals and dates on Kenny Chesney's Spread the Love Tour.

Hunt also talked about who keeps him humble through all his success and accolades, and which rumor about his love life surprised him most. On Sunday night (April 3) he performed "Make You Miss Me" at the 2016 ACM Awards. It was just Hunt on piano with a few drum loops.

“I’m not really a piano player, but I play enough to get away with it," he says. Fans seem to agree that he more than got away with it on this night.
