KLTV 7 meteorologist Grant Dade says there is a risk for severe storms in East Texas Wednesday morning as a cold front moves into the area.

With the cold front forecast to move through the area sometime Wednesday morning to early afternoon there will be plenty of warm air for it to collide with. This will make the atmosphere favorable for severe storms and gust winds to develop.

The whole key will be when the cold front actually moves in. The later in the day it reaches East Texas, the greater the threat of severe weather. The eastern half of East Texas will especially be under the gun in that case.

Right now Grant says the tornado threat appears low, but again it's all in the timing of the front. Severe thunderstorms, gusty winds and hail are the main areas of concern at this point.
