Shooting Leaves Tyler Teenager Dead, Police Searching for Shooter

TYLER -- A shooting in Tyler overnight has left a teen dead and police searching for the shooter.

Officers were first called to the ETMC Clinic on South Broadway in reference to a person brought in with a gunshot wound. The victim, 19-year-old James Caleb Stanley, was transported to East Texas Medical Center, where he died a short time later.

Police have determined the shooting took place at 7105 Gatewood in Tyler and are currently working to sort out how the shooting occurred.

There have been no arrests at this time. The shooting occurred just after 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Van Zandt County Man Sentenced on Federal Child Solicitation Charges

A Wills Point man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to online solicitation of a minor.

According to information presented in Federal Court in Tyler, 59 year old Brian Douglas Brown communicated via online chats with an individual identified to him as being a 14-year-old.  During these online chats, Brown expressed the desire to engage in sexual activity with the minor.  A one-count federal indictment was returned by the Grand Jury on July 13, 2011

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice.

More Testimony in Lufkin Bleach Death Trial

LUFKIN — A dialysis clinic patient told an East Texas jury that she saw a clinic nurse fill syringes with bleach from a cleaning pail and inject it into the intravenous lines of two other patients.

According to the Lukfin Daily News, Linda Hall testified Tuesday in the first day of testimony in the capital murder trial of Kimberly Saenz who's accused of killing five Lufkin dialysis clinic patients with bleach injections. The 38-year-old Lufkin nurse could get the death penalty if convicted.

Upshur County Man Sentenced of Federal Drug Violations

Bobby Arlen Ray, Jr. of Ore City pleaded guilty on October 11, 2011, to possession of a List 1 chemical with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, and was sentenced to 100 months in federal prison during a hearing before United States District Judge Leonard E. Davis.

According to information presented in court, Ray purchased cold pills containing pseudoephedrine at a Wal-Mart store in Longview, Texas, on March 31, 2010, as well as on numerous other occasions at various stores in the area in furtherance of his methamphetamine manufacturing activities.  Ray was named in a 56-count federal indictment returned on April 6, 2011.
