Smith County Probation Officer Arrested

Probation officer Rachelle Ann Hartgraves was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with injury to a child, a third degree felony.

47-year-old Hartgraves was arrested by Smith County Sheriff Detectives at her place of employment, the Smith County Adult Probation Department on Elm Street.

The arrest is the result of an investigation that began in 2012 by the Children’s Advocacy Center and the Smith County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division.

Hartgraves bond was set at $10,000 by 114^th State District Judge Christi Kennedy.
