The annual Smith County Wide Clean Up begins next Monday and runs through April 30.

Vouchers can be picked up to take bulk items to the Greenwood Farms Landfill, at no cost to you.

According to the Tyler Morning Telegraph, last year when the clean up was held for an entire month, 208 tons of solid waste and bulk items were disposed of with the use of 238 vouchers, a $4,000 savings to residents.

Vouchers are available at the following locations:

  • Smith County Annex Building, 200 E. Ferguson, Suite 100, Tyler
  • JP Pct. 1, 200 E. Ferguson, Suite 501, Tyler
  • Constable Pct. 1, 308 E. Ferguson, Tyler
  • JP/Constable Pct. 2, 15405 Highway 155 South, Tyler
  • JP/Constable Pct. 3, 313 E. Duval St., Troup
  • JP/Constable Pct. 4, 14152 Highway 155 North, Winona
  • JP/Constable Pct. 5, 2616 S. Main St., Lindale

The vouchers are good March 28 through April 30, Monday through Friday, 6:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. and 6:30 A.M. to noon Saturdays.

Items accepted are:

  • furniture
  • toys
  • tree trimmings

Items NOT accepted are:

  • hazardous waste
  • pesticides
  • herbicides
  • solvents
  • gasoline
  • oils
  • paint
  • acid
  • batteries
  • Asbestos
  • wet paint
  • Freon
  • whole tires
  • televisions
  • computers
  • refrigerators
  • freezers
