TYLER - Smoke from a 2,000 acreage controlled burn in Houston County is beginning to fill the skies in Smith County.

The Smith County Fire Marshalls office tells us the Texas Forestry Service is conducting the burn off in Kennard and the strong winds blowing from the south is moving the smoke into parts of East Texas including Smith County.


The Fire Marshalls office says the smoke is to continue through the afternoon.

Kennard is located in the Davy Crockett National Forest, just east of Crockett, Texas
