Jamie Coots, a snake handling preacher has passed away after refusing treatment for, big surprise, a snake bite. This Kentucky preacher believed whole heartedly that faith was stronger than venom. Unfortunately, this belief took his life.

This 42-year-old Pentecostal preacher and a family man, had been practicing his snake handling in the church for many years. He wrote opinion pieces about his disagreement with the Kentucky law that forbids the handling of snakes in religious practices. He was even arrested in 2008 for snake handling.

Coots fully understood what could happen in this dangerous religious practice. He once stated that a snake bite his middle finger back in 1998 and his entire arm swelled. Eventually his right hand's middle finger rotted to the point of bone showing.

But, all of this would not keep Coots from continuing down this dangerous path that took his life.
