Yep, Sony is following Nintendo, and Sega (but that Genesis Mini will be a disaster), in releasing a mini console pre-loaded with some of it's most popular games. The Playstation Classic comes out December 3. It will cost $99.99, come with two controllers and will be pre-loaded with 20 games.

Five games have been announced so far; Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, Tekken 3, Ridge Racer Type 4 and Wild Arms.

I have never played Jumping Flash or Wild Arms so that will be cool to try them out. As far as the other 15 games, we can only speculate.

I'm hoping Metal Gear Solid, Syphon Filter and Gran Turismo are included. Maybe Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. I would hope a classic Madden game would be included. Crash Bandicoot would be cool, too. We'll see.

The only pre-orders available so far are through Best Buy and, ugh, Gamestop. I'm sure more will announced in the next week or two along with other game announcements.

And yes, my pre-order is in and I will be picking it up at Best Buy in Tyler December 3rd.

I'm also wondering how long it will take someone to figure out a way to hack it and be able to add games like the NES and SNES minis. That would be awesome.

It's an exciting time to be an old school gamer like myself.

I'm old enough to have had a Nintendo Entertainment System as a kid. Still have it, too. And it works great.

Hours and hours playing Super Mario Bros. 3, Duck Hunt, Legend of Zelda, Tecmo Superbowl and so many more.

From the Nintendo, I graduated to the Sega Genesis. Great system with awesome games. Castlevania Bloodlines, Contra Hard Corps, RBI Baseball, so many memories playing those and many more.

From the Sega Genesis, I moved to the Sony Playstation. It was one of the first to use CD's to play games from instead of cartridges. I picked up Gran Turismo when I bought mine. Such a great racing game.

I believe after that was Metal Gear Solid which was on three discs. I had Final Fantasy VII after that, also on three discs. I had some other games but I can't remember those off the top of my head.

I remember, too, the memory cards you had to buy to save your game. I think at the time, you pretty much had to have a memory card for each game.

Ahh the memories. Enjoy the gaming, friends.
