I'm about to completely nerd out on you.

Last night during halftime of Monday Night Football, the final trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens debuted, and after watching it, I got goosebumps. I rewound, watched it again, got goosebumps. Rinse, repeat.

When I came to the station this morning, I pulled up www.screencrush.com and watched it several more times. Yeah, I'm a bit excited. Here's the trailer.

Tickets went on sale earlier in the evening and crashed ticket sites like Fandango and movietickets.com. They have since been restored and ticket sales continue.

Now, unlike a lot of Star Wars fans, I enjoyed Episodes I, II and III. Jar Jar Binks was annoying but I got past him. Of course the original trilogy will never be matched but from the looks of the new trailers, and with JJ Abrams directing, (top three directors for me right now, also directed the Star Trek reboot which was excellent) the new trilogy is off to a good start.

Some theaters will offer a Star Wars marathon starting with Episode I and finish with The Force Awakens that night. No word yet if that will come to East Texas but if it does, I might take a day off, put on my Jedi robe and enjoy the ultimate space opera. Unless the boss wants to send me to write a real time review (wink, wink).

In the meantime, I'll wait to see Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) battle alongside a cast of young padawans against the Dark Side. Let the countdown begin.

Here are the previous trailers for your viewing pleasure.
