In case you haven't noticed, summer's here. The temperatures across East Texas have been a few degrees above normal since summer began, but it has been a welcome relief to try to dry out some of the yards and pastures in the area. Get ready for a change, though.

Believe it or not, a late season cool front is expected to push across the area this weekend. That will increase the rain chances to 60% on Saturday and Saturday night.

At this time, no severe weather is forecast for the weekend, however, rainfall totals of about an inch are expected across the area. The temperatures on Sunday and Monday will be cooler by just a few degrees and the humidity levels should go down a bit.

This cool front is expected to push all the way to Gulf of Mexico which could bear watching through the middle of next week.

On some occasions, stalled fronts in the Gulf of Mexico can be a breeding ground for the development of tropical systems, so we'll need to keep an eye on that.
