The much anticipated opening of Tyler's Studio Movie Grill has been delayed to April 30.

Spokesperson for the home office, Lynne McQuaker, told the Tyler Morning Telegraph,

"We are extremely aware that Tyler and the surrounding East Texas communities were hit with severe storms on Thursday that caused damage, flooding and left many without power. Studio Movie Grill is committed to the communities we serve as well as our vendors, guests and employees; therefore we have decided to delay our opening to allow Oncor and local tradesman to help the families and businesses in need. We have moved our soft opening to April 24 with our Cans Film Festival Food Drive to benefit the East Texas Food Bank and our Grand Opening to April 30.”

The opening is timely as Marvel's 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' is set to open that weekend. The new cinema will boast 12 screens, luxury seating and dining and bar options at the push of a button.
