The city of Tyler has quickly, yet somewhat quietly turned into a cultural hub lately that has embraced the work of local artists, musicians and more.

And it's the art community that is drawing people from all over the area, in and outside of Tyler to see the incredible skills our locals have. You'll get a chance to do so if you haven't yet on Saturday (Nov. 15) at Currents Restaurant in Tyler.

An art show highlighting the work of three Tyler artists is happening from 8 p.m. to midnight. The show is completely free, though you will have the opportunity to buy work from the artists themselves.

Dace Kidd, whose work is shown above, Jason Bennett and Nora Schreiber will be on hand to showcase their work. Kidd recently moved to Tyler from Latvia and has quickly made a name for herself in the local art community.

Bennett is a graduate of UT Tyler and Schreiber is currently an undergraduate sculpture assistant at UT Tyler and is also interning at the Tyler Museum of Art at Tyler Junior College.

Currents, which recently moved into its new digs at 6011 S. Broadway Ave., is looking to show off its new location as well as support for East Texas artists.

A full bar will be available, as well as an additional beer bar. Art of all mediums will be showcased and for sale.

Don't miss it!
