Growing up in East Texas I was surrounded by pump-jacks and oil wells all my life, and aware of the rich history associated with the East Texas Oil Boom. In fact, my high school mascot was a Roughneck.
Given the extreme heat and dry conditions that we've had here since the beginning of Summer, I think I can speak for many fellow East Texans when I say, "When is Fall going to get here...and stay?!"
East Texas has seen its fare share of rain and severe weather this spring. It's been one of the wettest years on records, and one that has caused much pain and destruction for many East Texas families.
The beautiful fall weather continues to bless us here in East Texas and this weekend we're expecting temperatures to be a bit higher than normal and there's going to be plenty of sunshine available for all of the events happening around East Texas this weekend.
