The talent that comes out of Texas is no surprise to us. But we know just how difficult it is to break that mold of a "Texas Country Artist" and break into mainstream country. More or less the mainstream music industry as well. Well, two artists from our own backyard have just proved just how talented they are by scoring nominations for the 2013 Grammy Awards.

The Christmas season is upon us and among other things, that means "CHRISTMAS MUSIC, hooray!" Or, for all you Grinches, that means, "Christmas Music? Boo!" Regardless which reaction you experience, one thing is certain -- your ears are fixin' to be inundated with sounds of the season.

I love the feeling that Christmas time brings. It's the time of year even the crabbiest folks seem nicer. It also has some of the most beautiful and fun music. Just hearing Christmas music can instantly put me in a good mood. At my house, you'll hear me listening to my favorite Christmas tunes while trimming the tree, or wrapping those presents.

This week Pat Green tries to make "Even the Losers" his third winning single off "Songs We Wish We'd Written II," and get it to No. 1. But Eli Young Band, Reckless Kelly and Kyle Park are all hot on his heels. Can he hold them off? Let's find out.
