Following the 9/11 attacks, our country became unified in a way that had never been seen before. Everyone was in the dark and unsure of what was to come and people had lost hope. But in a time when there was so much chaos, there was one thing that brought everyone together: music. It doesn't matter which genre, music just has this ability to bring peace and hope and unify people and after 9/11 there were plenty of songs that did just that. Here is a list of songs songs that either pay tribute to 9/11, or have become somewhat of an anthem to Americans everywhere.

Biggest shocker (maybe?) was unknown songstress Esperanza Spalding making enemies with a nation of Justin Bieber fans by taking Best New Artist.
