The Tyler City Council heard two presentations today on the feasibility of building a new hotel conference center complex and an arena large enough to hold indoor sporting events and other major attractions that would seat up to 8,000 people.

This system is ready to go now and you will begin to receive the messages on your cell phone as early as this month. The message is called a WEA, or Wireless Emergency Alert. Tornado warnings, flash flood warnings and several other high-end warnings will go direct to wireless users in an affected county automatically if their device is compatible.
