Ryan Beaver has written some great songs, and it's so good to see radio finally taking notice. Not only did the Beav co-write Kyle Park's first two Top 10, and latest singles "Make or Break Me" and "Leavin' Stephenville," he wrote his own, most recent single "Hate" which climbed all the way to No. 2 in Texas earlier this year.

Beaver stopped by Radio Texas, LIVE! last week and he sang a brand new song live, not the one I asked to hear, but new nonetheless. Check it out.

EC's seen some great shows this year with JB and The Moonshine Band, Brantley Gilbert, Casey Donahew and Josh Abbott, to name just a few. The weekly concert has been a mainstay in East Texas for nearly 3 years now, East Texans know -- if you want live music, you can get it every Wednesday night at Electric Cowboy, and tonight's yet another great show with Ryan Beaver.

I've heard it referred to as "being Pat Greened" and every time I hear about Texas Music fans turning on the bands they've help build, I'm reminded of something I heard as a kid about lobsters. Did you know lobster tanks don't need lids? Because according to the story -- with lobsters, if one manages to start making it's way over the glass, out of the aquarium the other lobster will always pull it back down. I don't know how true it is and Google didn't confirm it for me but it's interesting.

The first time I met Ryan Beaver was well over 2 years ago. The then baby-faced Emory native stopped by my show for an interview and we played the now legendary game "Leave It To Beaver To Name That Ryan" a game that would take longer to explain than it's worth --but trust me it's legendary. However I was a fan of the "Beav" long before that meeting, in fact from the very first time I heard "Under The Neons" a song that you can find on his debut album of the same name, I've been a fan.

On the last episode of Radio Texas Live With Buddy Logan our pal Ryan Beaver stopped by and we played a fun game. A fun game in which it's up to Ryan Beaver to identify a famous person with the name of Ryan and we quite appropriately call it 'Leave It To Beaver To Name That Ryan'.
