Man, West Texans party hard. Just as hard as East Texans, except they do it in the dirt -- in a lot of dirt. This weekend I made my way to Midland for "Crude Fest," what a great show. And once we got accustomed to the layer of dirt on everything, we were able to enjoy some really great weather. Here's some pics from the show.

You might be surprised to learn, but I don't listen to my iPod much. Or CD's for that matter. I spend a majority of my drive time bouncing between radio stations, and not the satellite kind. I've always loved just listening to radio, commercials and all. Having said that, I've compiled my Top 10 totally awesome songs from 2012 played on Texas radio. All have had radio play in 2012 (even if only on my show) and all are totally awesome.

One album and two singles into a career may be a little early to go throwing around "the next best thing" but it's not stopping me. And while there are certainly a few bands you could say that about, not many have experienced the radio play and success The Damn Quails already have. Both of their singles "Fools Gold" and "So So Long," went Top 5 on the Texas charts. Last week the guys stopped by Radio Texas, LIVE! unannounced, but it was a welcomed surprise.

JAB Fest which has drawn huge crowds in Lubbock and Austin will now be hoping for the same with the newly added "Off Road Edition" going down at River Run ATV Park in beautiful Jacksonville.
